MONDAY

Beginning Bridge

Join us as we move further into fun bridge bids! This class will review basic No Trump and one of a Major opening bids AND will introduce opening one of a minor and the Stayman convention. It is a fun and great way to meet new people while improving your bridge skills! Newish to the game – this is your perfect class. If you are looking to brush up on your basic bridge bids, this is the class for you too. *Minimum of 12 people required.

Time: 9:30am – 11:30am

Winter Session REGISTER (4 classes):  

1/27, 2/3, 2/10, and 2/24 (No class on 2/17 President’s Day)

Pricing: $120 members; $140 non-members

Spring Session REGISTER (8 classes):

3/10, 3/17, 3/24, 3/31, 4/7, 4/14, 4/21, and 4/28 

Pricing: $240 members; $280

Newplicate

Drop-in NEWPLICATE with Bridge Director Tom Hunter

12:30pm-3:30pm, beginning Monday, 1/6 – 5/12

No class on 1/20 and 2/17

Come with a partner or email Tom and he’ll help you find one.

WEDNESDAY

Beginning Bridge Year 2 Session 2

For the advanced beginner player with basic bridge experience. Topics will include preemptive bidding, doubles, defense and smart declarer play of the hand. *Minimum of 12 people required.

THURSDAY

Intermediate Bridge

This class will focus on play of the hand, defense, and several conventions to review and learn.  Participants must have a solid knowledge of bridge basics and be ready to move at a quick and fun pace. *Minimum of 12 people required.

Time: 9:30am – 11:30am

Pricing: $120 members; $140 non-members

* The DCA and class instructor reserve the right to cancel a class if the required minimum number of registrations are not met. A refund will be issued in this case.

Meet our bridge instructors and director

Joan Bergen

Joan Bergen is a longtime local resident and Bridge Life Master who, after studying bridge intently for eight years, is driven to teach others. Students will benefit from her enthusiasm and love for the game that she describes as both a great way to meet people, and a wonderful activity to keep the mind sharp.

Meredith Dunne

Meredith Dunne is a longtime local resident and Bridge Life Master, who says it’s fun watching her students get hooked on the game of bridge. Meredith’s students enjoy continuing their instruction with her, appreciating her patient and personable teaching style.

Tom Hunter

A former Wall Streeter, Tom Hunter learned bridge at a young age from his grandmother, and his love for the game has continued ever since. He is an American Contract Bridge League certified teacher and director, and a local boy — confessing that he graduated from Staples High School more years ago than he’d care to admit!
