Flower Arranging Workshops

Flower Arranging workshops are designed to help you try something new, and find a creative way to express yourself. You’ll learn a new skill and walk away with an arrangement that you can be proud of, to use in your home or give as a gift.

The workshops are led by Allie Callan, a Darien resident and experienced floral designer from the New York Botanical Garden certificate program.

Upcoming Workshop

Valentine’s Day Wreath

Wednesday, February 8.  1:00 – 2:00pm

Grapevine wreaths are perfect for decorating with dried flowers, and we have beautiful red preserved roses for the occasion. These wreaths are a wonderful addition to an interior window, wall or area needing a special focal point. And would also make a thoughtful gift for someone special. Grab a friend and enjoy refreshments to spur your creativity!

All materials will be provided. Please bring your own hand clippers if you have them.

DCA members:  $45

Public:                 $55

Past Flower Arranging Workshops

“Spring Wreaths and Wine”

Our class featured grapevine wreaths (and a glass of wine or other beverage) that were perfect for decorating with dried flowers. These wreaths made a wonderful addition to an interior window, wall, or area needing a special focal point – and also were a thoughtful gift for someone special.

Not a DCA Member? Members receive discounted admission for our activities, and find that their membership pays for itself simply by participating in several events each year.

“Bring Summer Indoors”

During this workshop we created memories of warm days with our uniquely arranged succulent mini gardens.

“Preserved and Dried Flower Arrangement”

This workshop, originally scheduled for last spring, was rescheduled with great excitement!

We worked at individual distanced tables (masks required) in our spacious Garden Wing, with a variety of preserved and dried flowers in a small vase. These arrangements will last up to one year or more!

“Autumn Jewel Tone Arrangement”

We enjoyed making our own arrangement using autumn jewel tone flowers with the guidance of Allie Callan, a Darien resident and experienced floral designer from the New York Botanical Garden certificate program. We constructed a centerpiece and a tussie-mussie.
