DCA volunteers are people like you. Some are DCA members, some are not. Some are young, some a little older. All are caring individuals eager to help others.
Below are some of our current volunteering opportunities:
DCA Thrift Shop
Volunteering at the Thrift Shop only requires a commitment once a week. Volunteers help tidy clothing, price items, create in-store and window displays, and sell to customers. To join our team, please contact Carol Smith at 203-655-4552. (Pictured above are many of our Thrift Shop volunteers from a recent volunteer luncheon.)
Mom’s Morning In
Mom’s Morning In is a wonderful Friday morning program held monthly. The DCA provides entertainment for toddlers and preschoolers, to enjoy along with their parents, grandparents or caregivers. Would you like to help decide which performers to hire and help oversee the events? Please contact the DCA at firstname.lastname@example.org
DCA Bird Sanctuary
The Bird Sanctuary committee is focused on restoring the bird sanctuary that was originally created in the 1970s. This dedicated group has been replanting native plants, and upgrading trails throughout the 4 acres of woodland. There is no time commitment required to join this committee – they are thankful for a few hours of help when possible. Contact Cindy Ryan at Cryan077@aol.com or 203-249-8252 to help with this worthwhile project.
Greenhouse Group Plant Sale
The Greenhouse Group will be looking for volunteers to help with their May 2015 plant sale, their annual fundraiser for the DCA. Volunteering opportunities include helping to set up the event, working the sale, or breaking it down. Please contact the DCA at email@example.com if you would like to help.
The DCA and Carolyn’s Absolutely Fabulous Events holds afternoon teas on a regular basis. Volunteer help is needed with setting tables, and checking in and seating guests. If you would like to be involved in these lovely afternoon events please contact the DCA at firstname.lastname@example.org
Upcoming DCA Events
The DCA has an assortment of events, ranging from our DCA Annual Meeting, to fundraisers like our recent Bootleggers’ Ball. If you’d like to get involved in organizing, decorating, or other aspects of upcoming events, please let us know at email@example.com
