The DCA Duo Piano Group is an enthusiastic group of accomplished amateur pianists who play together for fun and to continue their musical education.
The DCA duo-pianist members practice weekly in Sandra Shaw Murphy’s Silvermine Studio, and perform twice-yearly concerts to help support the mission of the DCA. The group also performs for community groups and elder care facility residents.
The DCA Duo Piano Group’s fall concert will feature dance music from intriguing sources, such as an Italian polka by Sergei Rachmaninoff; a Romanian folk dance by Béla Bartok; and Chicken Reel, a lively square dance by Texan Julia Smith. In addition, they will perform two compositions – “Classic” Rock and Slow Dancin’ – by former Wilton resident Eugenie Rocherolle.
Karen Curtin, Kathy Edwards, Yuki Yamaguchi, Jonathan Thackeray, Yoko Araki and violinist Darwin Chen perform. Refreshments will be offered.
