“The fundraising chairs of The Darien Depot would like to thank the DCA for making our Depot Lunar New Year Winter Fundraiser a huge success!
A record number of attendees coupled with a passion for supporting the youth of Darien made our annual winter fundraiser an evening to remember! This fun filled evening of cocktails, delicious appetizers by Diane Browne Catering, an exciting mix of live and silent auction items paired with music by Ambassador Entertainment exceeded our expectations!
As a direct result of the evenings’ fundraising efforts, the Depot’s critical need for funding for a roof replacement has been secured and our ability to continue to provide numerous and varied community programs for so many student and adult programs will continue to expand and thrive!
None of this would have happened without the partnership and support of the staff at the DCA! They worked tirelessly and enthusiastically in the days leading up to our event, during set-up on the day of our fundraiser and right on through break down that evening to make every aspect of our event a tremendous success. Thank you DCA for all that you do!”

“I have to say this venue is absolutely beautiful, not only a short train ride from NYC (50 minutes), and nestled between the Merritt Parkway and I-95, it’s also situated among some of the most beautiful properties. What we loved about the DCA was its complete customization: they provided chairs, tables, flatware, plates etc. We were able to bring in our own caterer, decorations, liquor, cake, DJ – the list goes on!
Laura, the Catered Events manager, and the whole DCA team were fantastic at responding to emails, questions and requests. We had more of a DIY wedding where we brought in a lot of our own homemade decorations; Laura made sure we had a room in the house to store everything over the weekend. The venue itself is just beautiful! I would definitely recommend a spring wedding, everything was in full bloom for us! There were flowers everywhere we turned, and the photo opportunities that came with them! We had numerous comments from guests that their favorite part of the wedding was the cocktail hour in the garden. It truly was stunning!
The house itself is also perfect for a wedding; it offers a contingency plan in case of bad weather and numerous rooms for guests to spread out. The bridal suite upstairs was one of my favorite rooms overlooking the garden; it’s surrounded by windows bringing in heaps of light for perfect “getting ready” shots. There are photo opportunities all over the property from the front lawn, to the secret garden on the side of the house – you’re spoiled for choice! I can’t say enough positive things about the DCA, we’re so glad we found it! I would highly recommend!”

“Thank you so much for all your help in creating a beautiful shower for my daughter. Everything was exactly what Kelly had envisioned her bridal shower to be. David’s Catering and Carolyn’s china were awesome and I couldn’t have asked for a better space to hold the event. Thanks again for everything!”
– Stamford resident Claudia Cingari, who hosted her daughter’s bridal shower.
Selected for the historic feel of the rooms, the dining room served as the buffet space, with the McKitterick Room set with tables for guests and presents. The attached auxiliary kitchen offered prep space for her caterer, David’s Soundview Catering.
“As the Chairman of the Darien Volunteer Fire Department Dinner Dance Committee I wanted to send a note of appreciation to the Darien Community Association and Laura Boulton, DCA Event Coordinator. While we have traditionally tried to hold our annual dinner dance at the Darien Fire Department on the Post Road, the number of attendees and some maintenance to the fire house allowed us to look for an outside venue this October. The goal was always to keep the dinner dance in Darien, have great food and music in a setting that would allow for all members to enjoy the company and camaraderie of a great group of volunteers that provide an incredible service to the Darien community.
While searching various venues, I came across the DCA and saw Laura Boulton’s name as the Events Coordinator. Having worked with Laura in the past, this was my first phone call and honestly my last call once I went over dates and the overall plan for the event. We placed a hold on the date and set up a meeting. Once I toured the DCA’s house, both the classic inside rooms and ball room along with the beautiful patio and gardens, I knew it was a perfect fit for this group of local volunteers to enjoy a great dinner dance with family and friends.
The DCA offered the perfect setting to enjoy a great fall evening with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the garden, a bar on the patio, room to mingle in the main living room and the perfect dining room for the incredible ice sculpture and raw bar. Laura Boulton coordinated with great vendors and the ice sculpture of the Darien Fire Department logo, set in the dining room with a raw bar done by Diane Browne Catering, was the centerpiece of the evening. The main ball room set up with round tables for over 125 people had a great flow for our presentations, a delicious fall buffet menu catered by Diane Browne Catering to feed all of the hungry firemen and plenty of space for dancing into the night.
Working with Laura and the entire staff at the DCA was a pleasure and took a tremendous amount of stress off the dinner dance committee. It was nice to have a local event with a local organization that has a great history and dedication to the community of Darien. Thanks!”

“The Bucknell event at the DCA was superb! The DCA Meadowlands was an ideal and beautiful setting for our alumni/legacy event, and the staff was professional and easy to work with. As we plan future events in the area, we certainly hope we can return to the DCA. Laura – thank you for your expert planning and advice! You made all the ‘work’ completely seamless. Thank you for your care and dedication!”

The Garden Wing offered built-in audio-visual equipment and ample space for a variety of seating options.
“Everything went very well… without a hitch. A beautiful birthday celebration in a beautiful setting. The girls had a wonderful time and were really taken by the building. It was a perfect fit! Most of all, the smile on my daughter’s face was worth it. Steve was a great help as well!”
– Darien resident Caitlin Whitacre, after hosting her daughter’s birthday party
The dining room was selected for its “magical feel,” and was completely transformed into a fairy wonderland, with the attached auxiliary kitchen offering prep space for her caterer, Palmer’s Catering & Events.
“We’re very grateful for the professional and delightful interaction with Laura and the entire staff at the DCA. We held our annual Norcia Gala at the DCA, with friends flying in from Italy, Texas, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Idaho. Our guests had wonderful things to say both about the enchanting venue and the lovely grounds. We hope to have more Galas in Darien at the DCA!”
