The DCA’s Russian literature classes are designed to help students understand the historical and cultural context behind the stories of top Russian masterpieces. Classes include both discussion as well as viewing of excerpts from various ballet, film, and other performances where appropriate. Students are expected to read the assigned novel prior to the first class.
Workshops are led by Professor Lenka Pichlikova-Burke, an Adjunct Professor at Fairfield University of Central European Culture, Russian & East European Studies. Lenka is a talented and experienced teacher, as well as author and actress. An educator on Russian culture (drama, literature, music, visual arts, ballet, film), Russian/Soviet film, history and culture of Central and Eastern Europe, and nineteenth-century Russian literature, she is well-suited to offer insight into her selected masterpieces.
